Maxwell Mercer’s parents were both anthropologists and fueled Max’s curiosity and desire to know more. Dr. Richard Mercer regaled his son with stories about a secret society he once belonged to, called the Esoteric Order of the Æons, and his mother, Anne Mercer, filled him tales of exploration, adventure, and mischief.

Jekyll was the first name at my mind, but it’s a surname.
James Moriarty maybe…
Jack Tallon, aka Safari Jack, is known to them for sure and it’s already in the universe.

I said I have ideas, not they are good…

Since they made J--- a mystery it is probably a name whose revelation should surprise us.

Is he a real life person? A fictional character appropriate for these epoch? Or perhaps a character already mentioned in another Trinityverse product?

A crazy idea:
There is one very infamous person living in these times whose name starts with J and whose alliance with the Mercers would be absolutely shocking: Jack the Ripper...

James, Jack, Joseph...ordinary names wouldn't be surprising- there are lots of Josephs and Jacks and James.

My money's on "Jules".

It’s a J with three dashes, which means it’s probably a four letter name. I’m betting on Jack.

I don't think I've seen this J--- referred to as a "he" and didn't notice any male pronouns as "him" or "his".
Could this person be a JANE or a JULY, maybe?

Also: I don't think J--- might stand for Jekyll, him being namedropped as one among the Mercers' forerunners: "Richard and I were always novices compared to Tesla, Edison, Jekyll, and Lidenbrock."

Could be Jane. I just thought Jack cause of Safari Jack Tallon. I figured maybe he and Anne Mercer were friends.

Huh...I'm just getting more and more confused about what exactly is the aether, energy? Chemical? Process? All of them? My pet theory is that it's some sort of refined flux.
Also, I'm really eager to read the explanation as to why the invasion from Mars, and characters like Dr.Jekyll were dismissed as simple fiction. Some sort of aether backlash that changed the whole timeline?
