  • The Fate of Taason the Black

So, i kind of noticed a somewhat glaring absence on info on Taason the Black, the OG leader of the Disciples of the Abyss and one of the founders of Hollowfaust, after the exposure of his many crimes against the city-state & its denizens in collusion with Ahrmuzda Airat and their expulsion along with followers, that would lead to the founding of Glivid-Autel. The absence more telling in the Hornsaw module, where the one reference to any necromancers beside Airat's ilk in the whole book is of how "those members of the Disciples of the Abyss who were cast out folded seamlessly into the Society of Immortals".

From the text one might never guess Taason never ever existed in the first place. What is peculiar and suspicious like hell, not gonna lie. It's such a strange silence in what is supposed to be quite a major figure in the history of Hollowfaust & Glivid-Autel both - not to mention of of the most feared necromancers/war-mages of the Titanswar era, i'm rereading Hollowfaust right this moment to see i somehow missed some reference to his execution or anything similar.

There is a short write-up for Taason in the Player's Guide to Wizard Bards and Sorcerers, which basically tells that Taason doesn't care about political power and just does its own things.

Honestly that's already a step-up from Hollowfaust and even more so from Hornsaw, where not even his name is found in the Glivid-Autel chapter, really.
I'm a little surprised to find such stuff in the book you cited instead, but considering Airat's case too, guess i shouldn't be.
I was getting half-tempted to just treat him as a maxed (Wiz(Nec)17) cohort of Airat and leave at it.

Anyway, thanks for the tip. This should afford lots of hooks & opportunities for my overly ambitious (in a big dreams, not power-hungry, sort of way) Disciple of Abyss char to get himself into lots of trouble.
