  • For my own personal Metaplot reboot has to start with the Sabbat and more specifically about the collapse of the Sabbat. I think the infernalism of Melinda Galbraith should be discovered and likewise the impersonation of Zachary Sikorsky. This sparks the final Sabbat Civil war with many cardinals trying to claim the Regency and using the Inquisition as a weapon saying each other is an infernalist.

Eventually this leads to the Sabbat being weakened enough for the Camarilla to push into Sabbat territory. However this also leads to the Camarilla to be stretched thin in its resources...

I'm not really sure what this means for x5 going forward. Paradox not filling the slot of creative lead might mean that they are having an internal discussion about what to do going forward. Which could mean a lot of things. I'd like to have hope that it means they are really asking what they want to do with the property and who to be its steward.

At this point I'm just in a wait to see what happens mindset. I think its really to early to speculate what's going to happen besides whatever projects almost done get finished and pushed out.

  • WoD used to be fairly well known outside gaming circles. In terms of biased media coverage, Steven Colbert had a guest on The Colbert Report that did VtM LARP and dressed up Dracula and they talked about it a bit. But I don't think that recognition stayed around as well as D&D did....

  • I'm really confused to what you mean by "mainstream" here? Like TTRPGs are pretty mainstream like you have massive shows like Critical Role and even VtM has one in L.A. By Night. VtM got a TV show made, it only lasted a season but hey it still was on TV. D&D is getting that movie and in the past other movies have used 'offbrand' TTRPGs to how Nerds having fun.

Is VtM ever going to be at a point to over take D&D? I think we are at an interesting point where D&D is on its last legs. With WotC pushing D&D to be a billion dollar property and thus monetizing every...

  • I'm not sure I would use someone with True Faith and a history of being against the Chruch of Caine in its entirely to be the mouth piece to show that Vampires can be hypocritical and not right of mind. That seems like just like using that character for the shock of it rather then something they would actually do. It doesn't make me think about how vampires can be hypnotical creatures, it just makes me lose verisimilitude of the setting....

Honestly I almost never make stat block unless they are really needed. Most my NPCs are names and some bullet points about the character....

  • Just echoing the points brought up by Bluecho. While I do see a path being created for the express purpose of making a sect more controllable, like the path of the Hive, the reason Paths/Roads exist are more for the rules and codes that help bind the beast and stave of Wassail. If those codes and rules also are part of the spirituality of the sect, like the setite paths, then its all the better for it.

I find it interesting to include Monçada as part of that list, mostly because of how he views religion in specific. Monçada despised the Cainite Heresy and its ideas, him moving to...
