I ran Sorceror tier mage for a bunch of pupils at my school as a training wheel intro to roleplay. They've stated they'd like me to run a sequal next term once they wrap up their first d&d campaign and have apparantly been probing about wod and cod so there is potential to hook the young uns their

  • I'd just use it as an alternative Dominate/auspex lineup. I'd be up for other clans using them but with inherant risks of madness

you'd never pass as human so parts of the flaw would still be intact. You'd also be expected to buy the appearance dots in game which is a big points pit for something only circumstantially useful....

On this subject a player came to me with a proposed merit called "monstrous beauty" for pc. Nossie starts as app 0 as usual and can never pass as humour but can buy dots in appearance. Sort of inverted rugged bad looks. About 5 points.

    Thoughts?

what always weird me out is how 95 wod themes are as applicable as it was back then. It isn't so much prophetic as condemning....

weirdly I just saw that, I wouldn't call it bad but it does feel strangely corporate a very white middle class approach to diversity....

Its because the intent of the new lore is to box the game into certain play styles rather than enhance the setting. It's simular to how they imploded the Sabbat and they discouraged tech use in v5...

  • Me neither but vissitude always felt mechanically and thematically differant enough to be distinct from protean in terms of how it worked and was used. It's like the dynamic between presence, animalism and Dominate ....

  • Canon says he's dead ergo hes dead. Probably was the most powerful because chim 10 is true magic but no Paradox most powerful isn't infinite. Either Cappadocius ot tzmisce are/were probably 2nd.

Its also more interesting plot wise that some of the 3rd gen are dead.

My thoughts on it are more based on thematics it feels appropriate for true faith to be op because its rare and typically quite focussed in what it does. I've even played with it being the 10th sphere

Countermagick is tricky. I tend to do reduce success even if you don't out roll the spell.

    Other soft rules

-you can counter spells with differant spheres from the spell but you must explain how it deconstructs the spell and is effectively a spell itself.

-prime 5 and entropy 5 can be used as standard counter magic by simply pulling the spell apart. As can quithlopic forces.

-other supernaturals have a specific sphere their 'spells' are vulnerable. This rules tends to apply more. to mystic flavoured powers such as Rites and pacts than...

  • Could be an obvious source of factionalism in the syndicate. Thinking on it you could probably run groups within the syndicate with different economic models than neo liberalism, maybe even unionist or socialist members....

If you don't like the Litany and want to portray it as a negative why would you get rid of the problematic ones?

My idea for antiduluvians in general is that their agendas are often abstract and distinct. This can lead them to being antagonists or simply neutral passers by.

My 3rd gen line up went something like this.

Lasombra-dead, the assassination was a botched attempt at apotheosis on its behalf, didn't work.

Tzmisce-deadish, vissitude means keeps it coming back but its power is severly reduced following...

It occurs that the localised edge hunters rejection of larger orgs requires a meta knowledge of the setting. On the ground floor you don't really have any reason to reject them on first contact it also relies on reckoning hunters having the same outlooks as the settings writters, if hunters are individuals it's probable they'd have pretty diverse attitudes about larger groups even if they become aware of their darker aspects

The brazilian irl gaffe aside that's still a net positive by a considerable margin. The only way it could be worse is if after wiping out all vampires they somehow implemented something simular to vampires worldwide but worse. Its hard to understate how much of an utter blight vampires are in vtm....
