Everyone lets their guard down, sooner or later. It might only be for a second, or a microsecond, but that may be all it takes.

Well, there's your problem.
You make yourself look beautiful, someone's going to want to touch you. Maybe you meet someone you want to touch yourself, and you've used Obfuscate for so long you don't even think about it anymore... Until contact is made....

My experience is with Requiem, but I imagine someone else at least thought of this.
Thing is, there must be a catch or almost every Nosferatu would be making themselves look at least normal, if not beautiful. Maybe keeping the illusion requires constant concentration or blood expenditure (thus requiring more hunting). Or, if the power you're using is like the Familiar Stranger, it could backfire at unexpected moments.

I was talking about the less recent news where Hasbro did whatever it did with the Open License and pissed everyone off. I have no comment on WotC's depiction of Aragorn, except that it's WotC's depiction.

What makes you think I didn't? Check the news about WotC, lately?...Last edited by Father Enoch; 03-18-2023, 01:15 PM.

I'm going to be that guy and say it is. At the most, I'd ask for you to write it in Watsonian, or in-game terms. For example; describe gaining high ranks in Resources as "Build your fortune," or gaining Status in the Invictus as "Join the Inner Circle."

Ocean freight is still a big deal if you're not landlocked. Look at all the grief caused by the Evergiven....

You may not want to hear this, but Mage: the Awakening may be the wrong game for you if you just want "Dresden Files" urban fantasy. Chronicles of Darkness might be more fitting, if you use Second Sight: Third Eye for "low magic," and take the rituals and ceremonies for Krewes (Geist) and Sorcerers (Mummy).

No Sabbat in Requiem. We have the Circle of the Crone, the Lancea et Sanctum, and the Ordo Dracul.

No, I killed NWoD, by getting into it.
I have a curse, every time I try to choose between two franchises or "universes," the one I pick crashes and burns. I picked Warhammer Fantasy Battles over Warhammer 40,000, WHFB got "End-Timed." I started a D&D campaign in my old gaming club, Fourth edition happens and suddenly D&D is the worst thing to ever happen. When I finally found stores that sold the old World of Darkness books, they were already publishing the new ones. I didn't understand my curse at the time, so I choose NWoD, since I figured that was...

This is a podcast about the original KotE, hosted by three Canadians (I think they're all Canadians) of various Asian ancestries. It is just over two hours, and I can tell you that about an hour in, so halfway through, they made it to page seven. Not a hundred pages in, not fifty pages, SEVEN pages.

I knew when I first got the book it was at least a little bit problematic, with the way they talk about how "the West had never penetrated into the Orient," (because well, they did, there were a few wars that resulted), and the way the...

I am aware of that, I was considering a staff of mostly Ghouls and Mortals to interact with, like how the Valkenburg facility had Kinfolk. Originally the plan was for a single building, but a domain is an interesting idea, maybe something like a certain village......

Sanitarium for Low Humanity Vampires
This week I got the Valkenburg Foundation book (I heard the Skindancers first appeared in it and I was hoping to find some art of them in Skindancer form.)
I didn't find what I was looking for but I did get an idea for an asylum or sanitarium for vampires close to becoming a Draugr. Obviously, it wouldn't be Vampire: the Requiem without something going completely wrong, but I'd still like to imagine what would happen if someone tried.
I don't mean just a dumping ground, like Bedlam or too many other actual sanitariums were, for Vampires on the cusp of Draugr-hood. This...

Not really, Just the font used in the Strand Rider's Tale, the two pictures in the introduction, and the robotic spiders on pager 73.
The robots, cybernetics and maybe the picture of the Werewolf in the tank also give me strong Deviant vibes.

I think I proposed something similar but for different reason. My biggest dissonance with both the older and newer Worlds of Darkness was how they liked to portray "mainstream humanity" as skeptical and rational when even back in the 90s there were UFO crazes, there was Y2K hysteria, Christian Nationalists were convincing thousands that some "new world order" was bringing Armageddon upon the world, etc. I tried to argue that people (or sleepers) were, if anything, not skeptical enough and too willing to believe anything.
The response was that I was changing a fundamental...Last edited by Father Enoch; 03-09-2023, 10:34 PM.

I picked up the book of the Weaver on DTRpg (I don't know why since I've never played Apocalypse, but I did) and I see a lot of stuff that reminds me of the God-Machine.
Maybe you could mine some art or material from Demon: the Descent or the God Machine chronicles....
